One of the world's most famous and luxurious ski resorts, Val d'Isère has become synonymous with winter sports and apr`s ski. The oringal village dates back some 700 years and, although it has grown in size considerably in more recent years this development has been done tastefully and in keeping with the traditional architecture.

Above the resort the Espace Killy ski area is one of the world's largest, and popularly regarded as one of best on the planet. The resort shares nearly 200 miles of pistes with neighbouring Tignes and the lifts climb to some of the highest runs in Europe. Val d'Isère has a great snow record (with summer skiing available) and is always on of the first to open in November and last to close in May.

Activities & Facilities at Val d'Isère

Outdoor activities available include dog sledding, ice skating, ice driving, paragliding, microlight flights, ice climbing, and snowshoeing. Tourist flights by helicopter and light aircraft are also available. There is a public swimming pool and nine of the resort's hotels have spas (some of which may be open to the public). Indoor activites include a cinema and more than 70 shops.
