Day 1 : Fly UK to Paro
Fly overnight to Paro.
Day 2 : Arrive & Explore
Upon arrival at Paro airport you will be met by your expert tour guide and transferred to your Thimphu hotel. (L,D)
Day 3 : Thimphu Heritage
Discover beautiful Thiumphu, including a visit to the National Library, the Institute for Zorig Chusum (painting school), the National Memoriual Chorten and the Folk Heritage and National Textile Museums. This afternoon, tour the Trashi Chhoe Dzong. (B,L,D)
Day 4 : Journey to Punakha
Drive to Punakha via Dochu La; if the sky is clear you may be able to view the Himalayan peaks in the distance. After lunch, visit Punakha Dzong and the Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten. (B,L,D)
Day 5 : Explore Wangdue Phodrang
Tour Wangdue Phodrang’s Old Town and market, followed by Chimi Lakhang, known as the Temple of Fertility. (B,L,D)
Day 6 : Paro
Head back to Paro and visit the Simtokha Dzong en route. Upon arrival visit Ta Dzong. Walk down a hillside trail to Rinpung Dzong, home of the Paro Festival (23-27 March). (B,L,D)
Day 7 : Tiger’s Nest Monastery
Trek to the Taktsang Monastery, known as Tiger’s Nest, for astonishing views across the mountains. Return to Paro in the afternoon, visiting Drugyal Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang en route. (B,L,D)
Day 8 : Fly Paro to UK
Fly to the UK. (B)
