Norway Adventure Sailing to the Top of the World
Day 1 London, Bergen
Titan’s VIP Home Departure Service® transports you from your front door to London Heathrow Airport for your scheduled British Airways flight to Bergen. On arrival, we transfer to the 4★ Radisson Blu Hotel Norge where we enjoy an included dinner tonight.
Day 2 Bergen
After breakfast, we take you on a morning city sightseeing tour. The afternoon allows time to visit Mount Floien, where the adventurous can take the funicular to the top for spectacular views of the city. Later, we join our ship for an evening sailing.
Day 3 Maloy, Alesund
Passing Florø during the night and making brief calls at Maløy and Torvik, we reach the Art Nouveau town of Ålesund. The main church is built in a circular style and contains magnificent frescoes painted by Enevold Thomt.
Day 4 Trondheim, Rorvik
Early morning arrival in Norway’s third largest city, Trondheim. The narrow alleys and wooden buildings of the old town beguile us before our lunchtime sailing. The longest stretch of our journey lies ahead as we pass islands and mountain formations, lands of countless myths and legends before arriving at the charming fishing village of Rørvik.
Day 5 Bodo, Svolvaer
Early this morning, we cross the Arctic Circle, the invisible border circling the earth marking the southernmost point at which the midnight sun shines 24 hours a day on Midsummer Night’s Eve. We spend a few hours ashore in Bodø, before continuing along the Vest Fjord to the Lofoten Islands, rising up out of the sea like vast jagged exclamation marks. After a brief call in Stamsund, we sail on to Svolvær.
Day 6 Harstad, Tromso
As night falls over the fading silhouette of Lofoten, our ship arrives in Harstad, before travelling on to Tromsø. Late afternoon our ship leaves for Skjervoy.
Day 7 Hammerfest, Honningsvag
We wake up this morning in the picturesque harbour of Hammerfest, the world’s most northerly town. After time ashore, the ship continues northwards through beautiful scenery into Finnmark, before arriving in Honningsvåg. Our ship then continues east towards Kjøllefjord and Mehamn.
Day 8 Kirkenes, Berlevag
Time ashore in Kirkenes, on the Norwegian border with new Russia, before beginning our journey south. First stop is Vadsø, followed by Vardø, before turning north-west and sailing past impressive scenery to Båtsfjord, and on to Berlevåg.
Day 9 Skjervoy, Tromso
We sail along the beautiful leeward side of Mageroya Island to arrive in Honningsvåg in the early morning, then continue on to Hammerfest for a short time ashore. We make a brief stop in Skjervoy before arriving in Tromsø, the ‘Paris of the North’.
Day 10 Finnsnes, Stamsund
Our journey today, through the Vesterålen and Lofoten islands, is one of the most beautiful parts of this voyage. With brief stops at small ports along the route, the ship slips through a channel between mountains, passing colourful clusters of houses dotted along the coastline to arrive in Stamsund this evening.
Day 11 Brønnøsund, Rørvik
The morning is spent crossing back and forth between islands, through narrow straits which cut through the lush agricultural land, forming a green belt along the route. We arrive at Brønnøsund in the afternoon, then continue through the narrowest part of the voyage, when seaweed and rocks almost brush the sides of our ship, before arriving in Rørvik this evening.
Day 12 Trondheim, Alesund
In Trondheim, we have time for further exploration, before we cross the Trondheim Fjord again, passing the island of Hitra with its large herds of deer. The lighthouse on the island of Grip comes into view, reminding us that the next port of call is the salt cod town of Kristiansund. On to the City of Roses, Molde, before we arrive for the final time in Ålesund late tonight.
Day 13 Bergen
We sail through the beautiful Vestland scenery, passing the mouth of the Sognefjord and through the archipelago as we approach Bergen. Early afternoon disembarkation and transfer the airport for your return British Airways flight to London Heathrow Airport. On arrival, our staff will greet and transfer you to Titan transport for your journey home to your own front door.
