A Taste of Cuba
Day 1: UK/Havana
Depart on your scheduled flight to the Cuban capital of Havana. You will stay in this vibrant city for the next two nights.
Day 2: Havana
This morning, enjoy an included tour of Havana. Find out more about sights such as the Presidential Palace, Cathedral Square and the Plaza de Armas – the imposing square that is often regarded as the centre of Old Havana. You will also pay a visit to the magnificent Museum of the Revolution, where exhibits include memorabilia from Cuba’s revolutionary war led by Fidel Castro in the 1950s.
This afternoon, find out more about Cuba’s famous exports, as we discover Havana’s rum museum and visit a cigar shop. This evening there is the chance to visit the world-famous Tropicana nightclub.
Day 3: Cienfuegos/Bay of Pigs
Today, you will visit the historic Bay of Pigs, site of the CIA’s ill-fated attempt to invade southern Cuba in 1961 and visit the museum. After a stop at the Spanish colonial resort of Guama, you will arrive in the beautiful port city of Cienfuegos. Dubbed ‘the pearl of the south’, this is a cosmopolitan city rich in Cuban tradition, as you will discover during your three-night stay.
Day 4: Cienfuegos
Learn more about the fascinating history of Cienfuegos – a city once popular with pirates – during this morning’s included panoramic tour of the city. This afternoon, relax and take things at your own pace as you explore this enchanting city at your leisure.
Day 5: Trinidad
Winding, cobbled streets, striking colonial architecture and the chance to browse traditional pottery, arts and crafts will greet you on your visit to Trinidad, one of Cuba’s most popular destinations.
Your tour includes visits to the Romantic Museum and the famous La Canchanchara bar, where you’ll be able to sample the Canchanchara cocktail before returning to Cienfuegos for the night.
Day 6: Santa Clara
Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenic journey to Santa Clara today, stopping to admire the views at Hanabanillia lake en route. Located at the heart of Cuba, Santa Clara is a lively destination and your tour takes you to the monument at Tren Blindado and Ché Guevara’s museum and mausoleum. Your journey continues back to Havana, where you will stay for two nights.
Day 7: Havana
Today, you are free to explore Havana for yourself. Alternatively, why not join our optional full-day excursion to the picturesque Vinales Valley. Set in the heart of Cuba’s tobacco-growing region, this is surely one of the most breathtaking parts of Cuba, where you’ll discover famous limestone formations, caves and the Los Jasmines viewpoint.
Day 8: Havana
After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, enjoy free time in Havana before transferring to the airport for your overnight flight back to the UK.
Day 9: UK
Today you will arrive in the UK.
