A controversial project, the dam flooded ancient Native American sites and natural formations. We stay at the Lake Powell Resort.

We depart for Monument Valley this morning and on arrival take a fascinating jeep tour of these striking Monoliths. There is also time to explore the interesting visitor centre. Day 9 – Holbrook – Tucson

We continue to Globe for lunch before visiting the 320-acre Boyce Thompson Arboretum, founded by a mining magnate whose vision of a park set in a spectacular location was realised in the 1920s and is still an extremely popular location today. Later, the final leg of our journey today takes us to Tucson where we stay at the Doubletree by Hilton.
Day 10 – Tucson
