East Coast Explorer with Niagara Falls
Day 1 London – Toronto
Titan’s VIP Home Departure Service® transports you from your front door to London Heathrow Airport and your scheduled direct British Airways flight to Toronto. On arrival, we transfer to our conveniently located downtown hotel, the Metropolitan Toronto.
Day 2 Toronto
This morning we have arranged for a brief city tour of Toronto to introduce you to the contrasting elements that make up this exciting city. The modern shopping malls and skyscrapers stand entwined with the restored 19th Century buildings and the Harbour front has been reclaimed from the old docks into an imaginative selection of shops, restaurants and seating areas offering fine views. This afternoon, you are free to begin your own explorations of Toronto.
Day 3 Toronto – Niagara
A leisurely morning before we depart for Niagara Falls and our first sight of this natural wonder. A must is the famous Maid of the Mist boat, which takes you right up to the base of both Falls. This evening offers the opportunity to view the illuminated Falls by night. Our hotel for this evening is the Hilton Hotel and Suites.
Day 4 Niagara – Albany
An early departure this morning for the USA. Crossing the border, we traverse New York State to Albany and our overnight hotel, the well-appointed Crowne Plaza Albany or the Albany Hotel.
Day 5 Albany – New York
Our journey continues through to New York, arriving around midday. We head straight for the waterfront to board our cruise ship, the Norwegian Gem and there is time to settle into our cabins before a late afternoon sailing. With spacious, light and airy public rooms, the Norwegian Gem offers excellent observation areas from which to view the scenery.
Day 6 Cruising The Atlantic
Today you can enjoy a day at sea to relax and do as you please or sample some of the facilities that the Norwegian Gem has to offer, such as the Spa or join in the fun and games on deck.
Day 7 Halifax – Nova Scotia
This morning we arrive in Nova Scotia’s capital, Halifax, a city rich in maritime history and its impressive 18th Century Citadel, situated on a hill high above, was a British stronghold built to repel an American attack that never came. The city sits on one of the largest natural harbours in the world and has numerous shops and museums to enjoy. You may prefer to take a whale-watching trip or perhaps sample some of the excellent lobster for which the city is famed.
Day 8 Bay of Fundy (Saint John), New Brunswick
We arrive today at Canada’s oldest settlement, the attractive city of Saint John, gateway to vast expanses of unspoilt terrain. There may be an opportunity to see the fierce tides of the Bay of Fundy reverse the course of a river or visit the old City Market, the longest running farmer’s market in Canada.
Day 9 Bar Harbor Maine
This beautiful coastal port is a thriving resort, surrounded by the stunning scenery of Acadia National Park. There may be an opportunity to go whale watching or travel along the park’s main attraction, the Loop Road, which takes you along a spectacular section on open coast, affording stunning views of the area.
Day 10 Boston, Massachusetts
This morning we arrive in Boston where we have enough time to explore this intriguing city. Boston blends old world charm of historical buildings with modern conveniences and as the city is more than 360 years old, its famous buildings are not merely civic landmarks but viewed as national icons. Boston is designed for the walker and the majority of the city’s architectural delights are to be found along the Freedom Trail, a two and a half mile walk that links sixteen historic sites commencing from Boston Common, America’s oldest public park to the State House and the Old North Church and Bunker Hill.
Day 11 Newport, Rhode Island
Our destination this morning is charming and picturesque Newport. Once the exclusive resort of the rich and famous, is now the sailing capital of the world. Whilst in Newport there will be an opportunity to take a scenic drive or perhaps a cliff walk with New England’s rocky shore and crashing surf on one side and Newport’s most extravagant mansions on the other.
Day 12 New York
We disembark the Norwegian Gem this morning in the vibrant city of New York. We have arranged a city tour that will take in all the places this city is famous for, including Wall Street, Rockefeller Center, the Empire State Building and Central Park. This afternoon we check in to the Manhattan Times Square, our base for the next two nights. Tonight you may want to wander over to Times Square and the theatre district where the choice of restaurants is unrivalled.
Day 13 New York
Today is free for you to further enjoy the city. You cannot visit New York and not experience the wealth of shops on offer to the visitor, something New Yorkers have made an art form.
Day 14 New York
A leisurely morning before boarding our coach for the transfer to JFK Airport and your return British Airways direct flight to London.
Day 15 London
Arrival at London Heathrow where our staff will greet and transfer you to Titan transport for the journey home to your own front door.
