Days 1-2 : Fly to Harbin
Fly to Harbin, the home of the famous Ice and Snow Festival.
Days 3-4 : Snow & Ice Festival
On the southern bank of the Songhua River, Harbin has long been a crossroads between Russia and China, and has become one of the most fascinating cities in the country due to these combined influences. Now the city is famous for the annual Snow and Ice Festival with its enormous snow sculptures and beautiful ice lanterns. Take a tour through the festival, see winter swimming in temperatures averaging -15C, and explore the city with its Russian and Jewish influences.
Days 5-6 : Chinese New Year
Fly to Shanghai. Sightseeing today includes a stroll through the beautiful Yu Gardens and the Old Town as well as a visit to the superb antiquities and fine arts of the Shanghai museum. The next day join Wendy Wu to celebrate New Year’s Eve with dinner, music and dancing. Board our exclusive Dragon Boat cruise past a welcoming committee of costumed dancers and drummers, and cruise the Huangpu River with night-time vistas of the historic Bund and futuristic Pudong.
Day 7 : Shanghai
Spend the day exploring the city and enjoying the Chinese New Year spirit.
Day 8 : Fly to Shanghai
Fly to the UK, arriving home later the same day.
