Harrogate and York
Day 1 Harrogate
We begin with Titan’s VIP Home Departure Service® to the Puma Majestic Hotel. There will be time to settle in, before we enjoy a welcome drink prior to dinner this evening.
Day 2 Yorkshire Dales
We depart on our excursion into the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with rolling hills, dry-stone walls and outstanding views. Our first stop is in the area of Upper Wharfedale.
We then continue to Wensleydale Creamery, makers of the only real Yorkshire Wensleydale in the world. From the cheese-making viewing gallery, you can watch the performance of cutting, stirring and salting as the cheese is created before your eyes. On our way back to our hotel we make brief stops in the scenic spots of Swaledale and Arkengarthdale to take those all important photos.
Day 3-4 Harrogate
The next two days are free for you to make your own discoveries of Harrogate and the surrounding area. Perhaps you would like to visit Harrogate’s Turkish Baths and Spa to unwind your mind and invigorate your body.
Or maybe visit the World Heritage site at Fountains Abbey; the largest monastic ruins in the country set in one of England’s most spectacular Georgian water gardens and medieval deer park.
Day 5 Harrogate – Harewood House – Wetherby – York
We bid farewell to Harrogate as we depart for York. We make a stop at Harewood House, the home of the Earl and Countess of Harewood. The house is one of the most treasured in England and was built in the mid-18th century. There are contemporary art exhibits here, as well as gardens overseen by the award winning ‘Professional Gardener of the Year’.
This afternoon we have free time in Wetherby, the thriving market town in the heart of Yorkshire before reaching the Best Western Monkbar Hotel in the centre of York. You will be welcomed with a cup of tea/coffee and homemade shortbread. Dinner is served at our hotel this evening.
Day 6 York
Today you are free to make your own discoveries of this stylish city. York has something for everyone from its range of shops and restaurants to its historic buildings and numerous museums. You may like to visit the world-renowned National Railway Museum or perhaps join in with a guided tour of the sites, or maybe you’d rather just simply relax in one of the many tempting street-side cafes.
Day 7 Castle Howard
We depart for Castle Howard, which is reputed to be Yorkshire’s finest historic house and estate. This magnificent 18th century mansion has been the home of the Howard family for over 300 years, and is set within 1,000 acres of beautiful landscape.
Following our visit here, we travel onto Ripon and the Black Sheep Brewery. Here we have a tour of the brewery as well as the opportunity to sample of the produce. We return to our hotel later this afternoon.
Day 8 York
