Highlights of Jordan
Day 1 Depart London Gatwick
On arrival you’ll be met at the airport and accompanied you to Al Waleed hotel in Amman for a 2 night stay.
Day 2 Amman
After breakfast, your tour of the capital takes in downtown Amman, where the Citadel offers panoramic views. You’ll see the ancient ruins of the Temple of Hercules, dating to 161AD, the Byzantine Church, the Omayyad Palace and the Roman Theatre. You’ll continue to Jerash, the best-preserved Roman city of the Decapolis. You’ll see the monumental South Gate, the lovely Oval Plaza, the Temple of Zeus, the Colonnaded Street and visit a 4th century cathedral.

Day 3 Amman to Beidha
Driving along the Kings’ Highway, you’ll stop at Mount Nebo, believed to be the burial place of Moses. Continuing to Madaba, you’ll view the most significant of all the city’s treasures; the wonderful 6th century mosaic map of ancient Palestine in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George. You’ll reach the lovely area of Beidha where you will have some free time to explore independently before continuing to the Rock Camp. In an exceptionally beautiful, ancient setting, the camp is surrounded by towering rocks and you’ll get a fascinating insight into traditional Bedouin life. You’ll sit in lamp-lit, hand-woven tents under the stars and dine on traditional, slow-cooked meats and cardamom spiced coffee, before spending the night in your private Bedouin tent at the Rock Camp itself.

Day 4 Beidha to Petra
This morning you’ll take the short journey from Beidha to the main site of Petra. On a half day tour you’ll explore this breathtaking Nabatean city, which was carved out of the rose-red sandstone about 2,000 years ago. Walk through the narrow Siq to Petra’s most impressive monument; the Treasury, and on to the Street of Facades, the remarkable 3,000 seat theatre, the royal tombs and the colonnaded street. If you want explore further on your own, you can climb around 900 steps up the gigantic monastery for remarkable views over Wadi Araba. You’ll stay for 2 nights in the Petra Palace Hotel.

Day 5 Petra – Wadi Rum – Petra
After a free morning, you’ll drive to Wadi Rum’s fascinating visitor’s centre, with time to look around the attractions before an adventure into the desert in an open top four-wheel drive. You’ll view the Seven Pillars of Wisdom, ancient rock drawings, a carving of Lawrence of Arabia in Siq Um Al Tawaqi and the ruins of Allat temple. As the sun sets, enjoy dramatic views over Wadi Rum before returning to Petra.

Day 6 Petra to The Dead Sea
You’ll travel along the Dead Sea rift valley to the lowest point on earth. Known for its mineral rich salt sea and thermal-mineral springs, the Dead Sea allows you to float with no effort at all. Spend the afternoon swimming and enjoying the facilities of the 4* Dead Sea Spa hotel where you’ll spend 2 nights.

Day 7 The Dead Sea
Today you’re free to enjoy your last day in Jordan.

Day 8 Arrive London Gatwick
You’ll transfer to Amman for your return flight, arriving in the UK later today.
