Days 1-2 : Fly to Shanghai
Fly overnight to the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai, also known as the ‘Paris of the East’.
Day 3 : Discover Shanghai
Sightseeing today includes a stroll through the beautiful Yu Gardens and the Old Town as well as a visit to the Shanghai Museum. Also walk along the famous Bund and cruise on the panoramic Huangpu River. (B,L)
Day 4-7 : Yangtze River Cruise
Fly to Yichang. Board the Yangtze River Cruise vessel for four nights. (B,L). Enjoy various sidetrips and shore excursions along the way. (B,L,D)
Day 8 : Train to Chengdu
Travel by train to Chengdu. Sample a delicious Sichuan meal in the evening. (B,L,D)
Day 9 : Panda Reserve, fly to Xian
Visit the famous Giant Panda Conservation Centre. Fly to Xian, the former ancient capital and enjoy a Shui Jiao dumpling meal followed by a performance of Tang Dynasty dancing. (B,L,D)
Day 10 : Terracotta Warriors
Visit the Terracotta Warriors and walk along the Ancient City Wall. (B,L)
Day 11 : Visit Xian, fly to Beijing
Visit the Little Wild Goose Pagoda and the renowned Shaanxi Museum. Also walk through the lively Muslim Quarter. Later, fly to Beijing and taste the local delicacy, Peking Duck. (B,L,D)
Days 12-13 : Great Wall & Temple of Heaven
Visit the Forbidden City and Summer Palace. (B,L). The next day, walk on the Great Wall, visit the unique Temple of Heaven and enjoy a fascinating Chinese Acrobatic show. (B,L)
Day 14 : Fly Beijing to UK
Fly to the UK, arriving home the same or following day. (B)
