Days 1-2 : Fly to Beijing
Fly to Beijing, capital of China
Day 3 : Great Wall of China
Walk on the Great Wall started by the First Emperor, Qin Shihuang, over 2,000 years ago to protect China from invaders from the north. Tour the extensive Summer Palace, playground of Emperors, and enjoy an incredible acrobat show. Our dinner includes China’s most famous delicacy, Peking Duck.
Day 4 : Fly Kites & Forbidden City
Explore the labyrinth of Hutongs by rickshaw, then make and fly traditional elaborate Chinese kites. Get lost the Forbidden City, home of the Last Emperor. Join a Chinese painting class.
Days 5-6 : Terracotta Warriors
Learn Chinese Yoo-Yoo in the Temple of Heaven Park and then fly to Xi’an. The next day visit the Terracotta Warriors, created over 2,000 years ago to accompany Emperor Qin Shihuang in the afterlife, and sculpt your own warriors. Later cycle along the Ancient City Wall.
Days 7-8 : Grand Buddha
Fly to Chengdu and enjoy free time to explore. Travel to Leshan to visit the Grand Buddha, the world’s largest stone-carved Buddhist statue. Return to Chengdu, visiting the old town of Huanglongxi en-route.
Day 9 : Giant Pandas
Visit the Panda Conservation Centre to see these charismatic animals being reared in wooded surroundings. You may also choose to join the reserve’s vital conservation work.
Day 10 : Fly Chengdu to the UK
Fly to the UK, arriving home the same or following day.
