Salvador Samba and the Beach

Day 1 UK to Salvador
Overnight flight to Salvador via Lisbon or Sao Paulo.

Day 2 Salvador
Arrive in Salvador and transfer to your hotel, located in the restored historic city centre. Stay for 3 nights in a city centre hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to unwind.

Day 3 Salvador
A guided tour of Salvador will introduce you to this exotic and enthralling city with a mix of cultures and influences. See the beautiful baroque architecture of the Pelourinho, including the church of Sao Francisco and the Carmo museum. After a traditional Bahian lunch, where you might want to try the delicious local dishes of feijoada or moqueca. After lunch head to the beguiling Senor do Bonfim church, set on a hill and stop at Mount Serrat for panoramic views of the old and new city and the coast. The tour ends with time at the Modelo Market, where you can bargain for local handicrafts and silver items.

Day 4 Salvador
Today is free in Salvador, watch the world go by in the old town square or revisit and area you saw yesterday. Salvador is known for its vibrant art scene and music, and you will hear the sounds of the samba or bossa nova all around the town.

Day 5 Salvador to Praia do Forte beach
Just an hour up the coast from the city, you will find the wide, sandy beaches and blue seas of Praia do Forte, with coastal restaurants, bars and shops. Stay for 4 nights and truly relax.

Day 6 – 8 Praia do Forte
Enjoy relaxing at the Praia do Forte Eco resort, where sea front apartments are scattered around a palm fringed beach. Chose from four swimming pools, three restaurants, three bars, and a great variety of activities on offer for all ages including four floodlit tennis courts, two whirlpool baths and a nautical sports centre for ocean watersports.

Day 8 Salvador to UK
Transfer to Salvador airport this afternoon for your return flight to the UK. You might want to stay extra nights of course, or experience another part of Brazil, please see below for Inspiration.
