Days 1-2 : Fly to Beijing
Fly overnight to Beijing, China’s capital city.
Day 3 : Forbidden City
Sightseeing today includes a stroll through Tiananmen Square, past Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum to the treasure-filled Forbidden City, the largest and best preserved collection of ancient buildings in China. We also take a rickshaw ride through the traditional Hutong areas and visit the unique Temple of Heaven. Our evening meal includes the local delicacy, Peking Duck.
Day 4 : Great Wall of China
Walk on the Great Wall to appreciate 2,000 years of history whilst admiring the panoramic views. The Great Wall is China’s most iconic attraction, which stretches over 4,000 miles from the Shanhaiguan Pass on the east coast to the Gobi Desert in the west. Also tour the exquisite Summer Palace and see a fascinating Chinese Acrobat show in the evening.
Day 5 : Fly to Chongqing
Fly to Chongqing. Visit the Panda House at Chongqing Zoo and stroll through the botanical gardens before boarding your Yangtze River Cruise vessel.
Days 6-7 : Yangtze River Cruise
Over the next two days we will cruise through some of the most dramatic scenery in the world, taking various shore excursions along the way, such as the Ghost City of Fengdu, striking Goddess Stream, or the Lesser Three Gorges.
Day 8 : Three Gorges Dam
Enjoy a tour of the Three Gorges Dam before disembarking from the cruise vessel and flying to vibrant Shanghai.
Day 9 : Discover Shanghai
Walk through the beautiful Yu Gardens and the Old Town. Visit the Shanghai Museum which houses over 120,000 pieces of bronze, coins, jade, ceramics, paintings and calligraphy. We also walk along the famous colonial style Bund and explore the restored Xintiandi area with its unique 1920’s style Shikumen buildings. This evening enjoy a farewell cruise along the stunning Huangpu River and traditional Shanghai cuisine.
Day 10 : Fly Shanghai to UK
Fly to the UK, arriving home the same n great Wall & Forbidden City or following day.
