Days 1-2 : Fly to Xiamen
Fly overnight to coastal Xiamen.
Day 3 : Explore Gulangyu Island
Take a ferry ride to Gulangyu Island, famous for its natural landscapes, ancient relics and fascinating architecture. Visit Hi Heaven complex, enjoy a puppet show and visit Shuzhuang Garden, Guanfu Classic Art Museum, Organ Museum, Music Hall and see Sanyi Church. Later on the mainland visit Hulishan Cannon Fortress, built in 1894.
Day 4 : Hakka Roundhouses
Travel to Yongding, the heartland of the Hakka people. Visit the famous Hakka Roundhouses, also known as Tu Lou, a unique style of Chinese communal earthen houses.
Day 5 : Beautiful Lijiang
Fly to Lijiang (via Kunming), at the foothills of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
Day 6 : Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
Explore the impressive Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which soars to a height of 5,500m. Take a chairlift to the high meadows to view the amazing scenery. Later, see the Baisha Frescoes.
Day 7 : Black Dragon Pool
Visit the picturesque Black Dragon Pool and wander through the UNESCO Listed Old Quarter. Drive to Dali. This afternoon visit the Xizhou Village and see a Zhoucheng tie-dye demonstration. Overnight Dali.
Day 8 : Relaxing Dali
See the charming Song Dynasty’s Three Pagodas which dominate the skyline above Dali’s historic city walls. Cruise on Erhai Lake. This evening, explore Dali’s ancient quarter and stroll down Foreigner’s Street.
Days 9-10 : Stone Forest, Kunming
Fly to Kunming. This evening, sample Kunming’s famous Across the Bridge Noodles. The following day wander through the Stone Forest where massive limestone columns form a vast forest of surreal shapes and images. This afternoon, fly to Guilin, one of China’s most stunning cities.
Day 11 : Longji Rice Terraces
Travel to Longji, also known as Longsheng or the Dragon’s Backbone, home to a vast region of rice terraces. Walk up the steps of the rice terraces for incredible views. Return to Guilin.
Days 12-13 : Li River Cruise
Cruise the stunning Li River to Yangshuo and witness the breathtaking landscape of spectacular limestone hills, tranquil fishing scenes and picturesque villages. This morning discover the beautiful rural countryside around Yangshuo with its pretty hills and local farms. The afternoon is at leisure. There are many activities available (arranged locally at extra cost) such as cycling, rafting and walking or you may choose to relax in the town. In the evening watch a demonstration of traditional cormorant fishing.
Day 14 : Fly to Hong Kong
Return to Guilin and visit the stunning Reed Flute Caves. Transfer to the airport and fly to Hong Kong. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure (breakfast only included).
Day 15 : Victoria Peak
Take a tour of Hong Kong Island today, including Victoria Peak and Stanley Market. Later you will visit the Aberdeen Fishing Village (breakfast only included).
Day 16 : Giant Buddha & Lantau
Take a ferry ride through Victoria Harbour to Lantau Island. Visit Cheung Sha Beach, Tai O Fishing Village and the Giant Buddha before taking the Skyrail cable car down the mountain. Enjoy dinner at the top of Victoria Peak (breakfast and dinner included).
Day 17 : Fly Hong Kong to UK
Fly to the UK arriving the same or following day
