Day 1 : Fly to Rangoon (Yangon)
Fly overnight to Rangoon, the former capital of Burma (Myanmar)
Day 2 : Arrive Rangoon
On arrival you will be met by your expert tour guide and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure
Day 3 : Journey to Bagan
Fly to Bagan. On arrival, you’ll be transferred to your ship for lunch followed by an exploration of Bagan’s 3000 monuments, often compared to Cambodia’s Angkor Wat in their cultural significance and architecture. (L,D)
Day 4 : Explore Bagan
Discover more of Bagan, and visit a traditional lacquer workshop. (B,L,D)
Day 5 : Sail to Pakkoku
Sail to the lively river town of Pakkoku, home to ancient teak wood monasteries. (B,L,D)
Day 6 : Irrawaddy Countryside
Take a morning walk through a local village before spending the rest of the day cruising down the sleepy Irrawaddy River. (B,L,D)
Day 7 : Ava & Amarapura
Visit the iconic U Bein Bridge, the longest teak wood bridge in the world. In the evening, walk through the picturesque Sagaing Hills. (B,L,D)
Day 8 : Mingun & Kyauk-Myoung
Start the day with a wander through Mingun, a sleepy riverside town north of Amarapura which is home to the impressive Mingun Temple and the massive Mingun Bell. Next, visit the spectacular potteries near Kyauk-Myoung. (B,L,D)
Day 9 : Discover Mandalay
Visit the Royal Palace, a walled city within Mandalay built in 1861 by King Mindon. Continue to Mandalay Hill for beautiful views over the countryside. (B,L,D)
Day 10 : Travel to Rangoon
Disembark your ship and transfer to the airport for your flight to Rangoon. Visit Shwedagon Pagoda at sunset. (B)
Day 11 : Fly Rangoon to UK
Fly overnight to the UK, arriving home the same or following day.
