DAY 1 SUNDAY HEATHROW-NAIROBI
Fly from Heathrow overnight to Kilimanjaro via Nairobi.
DAY 2 MONDAY TARANGIRE
Welcome to Tanzania where you are met at the airport by your guide in a 4×4 vehicle for your safari adventure. After stopping in Arusha for lunch at a local restaurant, enjoy a game drive en route to your camp in Tarangire (155 kms approximately 2 hours 30 minutes). You can also enjoy an evening game drive and nature walks with local Masai. Overnight: Maisha Kikoti Tented Camp. (l,d)
DAY 3 TUESDAY TARANGIRE
Full day of game drives including night drives discovering the abundant wildlife in Tarangire. Overnight: Maisha Kikoti Tented Camp. (b,l,d)
DAY 4 WEDNESDAY NGORONGORO
After breakfast drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (140 kms approximately 2 hours 30 minutes) with a lunch stop at the village of Muto Wambu in a traditional homestay. You will also visit a local Masai village and experience the welcome dance. On arrival at the lodge there are a number of nature trails to discover. Overnight: Endoro Lodge. (b,l,d)
DAY 5 THURSDAY SERENGETI
After breakfast depart early to descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the wonders of Tanzania. After your picnic lunch in the crater ascend and drive around the crater’s rim and descend to Olduvai Gorge which is often referred to as ‘The Cradle of Mankind’ and is one of the most important prehistoric sites in the world (215 kms – approximately 3 hours 30 minutes). Enter the spectacular Serengeti National Park with exciting game viewing en route to your deluxe tented camp. Relax with sundowners and canapes before your a la carte dinner under the stars around the camp fire. Overnight: Maisha Rongai Camp. (b,l,d)
DAY 6 FRIDAY SERENGETI
Full morning, afternoon or full day drive to witness at your leisure, some of the vast array of animals on your doorstep that inhabit this magnificent national park. Sundowners and dinner in the bush, this is wild Africa but with all the conveniences of an intimate deluxe tented camp. Overnight: Maisha Rongai Camp. (b,l,d)
DAY 7 SATURDAY EXTENSION OR HEATHROW
After breakfast transfer to Seronera airstrip, with a game drive en route, for your light aircraft flight to Arusha (approximately 1 hour). Arrive at Arusha airport and stop for lunch at a cultural heritage village and shop for souvenirs. Transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight to Nairobi or proceed to your chosen beach extension or return to Heathrow. (b,l)
Alternatively, there is the option to fly directly from Arusha to Zanzibar for your beach extension (from £220, 15kg luggage allowance).
