The Grand Rhine Journey With Lake Lucerne

Day 1 London – Zurich – Lucerne
Titan’s VIP Home Departure Service® transports you from your front door to London Heathrow Airport and a direct scheduled British Airways flight to Zurich. Upon arrival, we transfer to our historic 4★ hotel,the Wilden Mann, where we enjoy an included dinner.

Day 2 Lucerne
Lucerne is a delight to explore, and this morning’s guided walking tour will take you through its quiet lanes, attractive squares and picturesque bridges.This afternoon and evening you are free to enjoy the wonderful lakeside setting, where you will find plenty of pavement cafes and cosy bars serving excellent local fare.

Day 3 Lucerne – Mount Rigi – Basel
We check out of the hotel this morning for our included guided excursion to Mount Rigi. After a pleasant cruise across the lake to Vitznau, we board the famous mountain train to the summit of Mount Rigi. Here, you can enjoy the wonderful views and free time for lunch, before descending on the cable car to Weggis, where our coach awaits.
After a brief stop to collect our luggage in Lucerne, we continue to Basel, where you will be welcomed aboard the Royal Crown and tonight we enjoy a welcome reception followed by dinner accompanied by specially selected wines.

Day 4 Basel
Basel is known as the cultural capital of Switzerland where the Swiss, French and German borders meet and today’s included tour will take you on a panoramic drive around the city and a walk through the oldest part of the town. Were-join the Royal Crown in the late afternoon and enjoy dinner as she makes her way towards the French border.

Day 5 Strasbourg
Today will be spent in the fascinating city of Strasbourg, a city alive with French and German influences. Capital of Alsace, Strasbourg is a city of great importance both historically and today, as the home of the Council of Europe. Perhaps take an optional excursion by coach and on foot which will take you to the famous Quai St Nicholas, the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the European Parliament and the Place Republique.

Day 6 Spreyer – Rüdesheim
We continue into Germany as the ship navigates towards Speyer this morning. Take some time to enjoy the Royal Crown’s onboard leisure facilities;why not book a treatment in the spa, hone your golf skills on the putting green or relax on the Sun Deck and take in the mesmerising river views.On arrival in Speyer, we enjoy an excursion to the ancient university town of Heidelberg, including a visit to the impressive red-walled castle. Later, we cruise to Mainz and fi nally to Rüdesheim where the Royal Crown will dock for the night

Day 7 Rüdesheim – Koblenz
Rüdesheim is home to the famous cobbled Drosselgasse, where lively inns and wine cellars line the street. Spend your morning sampling the local produce in a wine tavern or perhaps join an optional tour of the city which features a visit to Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum, home to an array of automated music machines from the 18th – 20th centuries. Re-board the ship in time for lunch and spend the afternoon cruising through the Upper Middle Rhine Valley to Koblenz. This is one of the most scenic stretches of the Rhine, where rolling vineyards and hilltop castles line the river banks. You will also learn about the legends which surround the famous Loreley, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 8 Koblenz – Cologne
We spend the morning in Koblenz, one of Germany’s oldest cities, with a history dating back to Roman times. Here you can enjoy an optional tour of the city, which includes a visit to the fortress of Ehrenbreitstein or perhaps choose to spend some time exploring the town’s abundance of cultural monuments and historic buildings, and enjoy a leisurely walk through its narrow streets and romantic squares. In the afternoon, the Royal Crown continues her journey north on the Rhine to Cologne.

Day 9 Cologne
We arrive into Cologne at breakfast time and an optional guided tour will take you through the Old Town to the magnificent gothic Cathedral that dominates the city skyline. A masterpiece of the high-gothic period, it is one of the largest cathedrals in Europe and attained even greater status after the Second World War, as it remained standing proudly amid the ruins of the city centre.The Royal Crown leaves Cologne in the late afternoon and tonight you can enjoy a Farewell Dinner on board.

Day 10 Amsterdam – London
We disembark and transfer to the airport for our return British Airways fl ight to London Heathrow or London Gatwick Airport. On arrival, our staff will greet you and transfer you to Titan transport for your journey home to your own front door.
