The Greek Islands from Crete

Day 1: UK/Crete
Depart on your flight to Heraklion in Crete. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel in Hersonissos for a two-night stay on a half board basis.

Day 2: Hersonissos in Crete
Relax at your hotel in this pretty Greek town with a relaxed pace and wonderful beaches. Perhaps take time to visit the famous ruins of Knossos or the historical island capital of Heraklion.

Day 3: Hersonissos in Crete/Costa Mediterranea
Depart 23:00
Enjoy the morning at leisure before transferring to the port to embark your ship, Costa Mediterranea. Explore your wonderful ship this afternoon and enjoy the many facilities that are available. You will set sail late this evening.

Day 4: Santorini, Greece
Arrive 08:00 – Depart 18:00
A picturesque volcanic island renowned for its distinctive whitewashed buildings that cling to the hillside. Stroll around the wonderful laneways of the town or relax in a café and experience spectacular views across the caldera and the tranquil Aegean Sea.

Day 5: Mykonos, Greece
Arrive 08:00 – Depart 23:00
Mykonos is a cosmopolitan island with an infectious spirit. There is so much to explore from bustling streets to charming, relaxed restaurants and the picturesque port. The pretty windmills that pepper the scenery have long been a feature of the island.

Day 6: Izmir, Turkey
Arrive 09:00 – Depart 19:00
Izmir is one of the largest and most significant cities in Turkey. Rather unusually the city has a modern Mediterranean feel yet established Turkish influences can still be observed including mosques, traditional markets and vibrant bazaars.

Day 7: Samos, Greece
Arrive 08:00 – Depart 19:00
Samos is a beautiful island with crystal clear waters and enticing beaches. This is one of the more fertile islands making the environment ideal for successful viticulture. Greece is not known for its wine although the wine that is produced here is considered to be some of the best in the Greek islands.

Day 8: Kos, Greece
Arrive 08:00 – Depart 18:00
Ancient and modern combine in Kos making this one of the most popular Greek islands. Relax on the stretches of sandy beaches, stroll around the town and relax with a fruity cocktail or a traditional Greek coffee. Perhaps take the chance to head inland to enjoy the peace of the hillside towns and ancient ruins.

Day 9: Rhodes, Greece
Arrive 08:00 – Depart 20:00
Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese islands. The main town on the island, also called Rhodes, is built within the walls of an ancient Venetian castle. Recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage site this is an exceptional town with a wonderful atmosphere. Rhodes is certain to be a highlight of your cruise.

Day 10: Heraklion in Crete, Greece
Arrive 08:00
We arrive in Crete this morning and after breakfast on board you will disembark your ship. You will then be transferred to the airport for your flight back to the UK.

Hersonissos Palace
A modern hotel with excellent facilities. The hotel is situated within walking distance of the resort of Hersonissos and just a few metres from the beach. Facilities at the hotel include a pool, restaurant and bar. Rooms have private facilities, air-conditioning, mini fridge and balcony.

Your ship – Costa Mediterranea

A beautiful and refined ship; the interior takes its influence from classical Italy with elegant detailing and works of art adorning the walls. The sumptuous furnishings are complemented by modern services. Enjoy large comfortable cabins, most of which include a private balcony. Facilities aboard include a choice of restaurants, a huge number of bars, Jacuzzis and pools. There is a spa, sports pitch, theatre, casino and disco.
