Day 1 : Fly to Saigon
Fly overnight to Saigon.
Day 2 : Arrive & Explore
On arrival you will be met by your expert tour guide and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 3 : Discover Saigon
Sightseeing today includes a visit to Notre Dame Cathedral, the colonial Central Post Office, Reunification Palace and the War Remnants Museum. You’ll also visit Ben Thanh Market.
Day 4 : Mekong Delta Cruise
Travel to Ben Tre and cruise on the Mekong River to explore the Delta, the rice basket of Vietnam. The area’s rich and fertile lands are perfect for growing rice, coconuts, vegetables and tropical fruits. Travel through palm-lined canals on wooden sampans passing stilt houses and fish farms before returning to Saigon.
Day 5 : Cu Chi Tunnels & Tay Ninh
Explore the amazing network of Cu Chi Tunnels before travelling to Tay Ninh to attend the noon service at the Cao Dai Temple, one of the most striking structures in Asia. Return to Saigon.
Day 6 : Journey to Hoi An
Fly to Danang and transfer to the UNESCO town of Hoi An, stopping at the Marble Mountains.
Day 7 : Walking tour of Hoi An
Enjoy a walking tour of Hoi An and visit one of its oldest homes, still occupied by descendants of merchants that built it over 200 years ago. Also visit the Japanese Bridge, Hoi An Market and a local Chinese Pagoda. The afternoon is at leisure to visit the local markets or relax in a riverside café.
Day 8 : Imperial Citadel, Hue
Travel to Hue via the scenic Hai Van Pass and enjoy a cyclo ride to the Imperial Citadel, the centrepiece of the Royal Empire which was extensively damaged during the Vietnam War. You’ll also visit Thien Mu Pagoda and take a boat trip on the Perfume River.
Day 9 : Royal tombs, fly to Hanoi
Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Royal Tomb of Minh Mang. Later, fly to Hanoi, a charming and richly historic city of lakes, parks and shaded boulevards.
Day 10 : Discover Hanoi
Sightseeing includes a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Quarter where you will see Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (closed Sep-Dec), Stilt House, One Pillar Pagoda, and the Temple of Literature – you’ll also take a walking tour of the old Quarter.
Day 11 : Halong Bay Junk Cruise
Travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay. Enjoy a seafood meal whilst cruising between the nearby islands on board a traditionally designed Junk Boat. Return to Hanoi later in the day.
Day 12 : Fly Hanoi to UK
Fly to the UK, arriving home the same or following day.
