Wainwright’s Lake District

Day 1 Bowness-on-Windermere
Titan’s VIP Home Departure Service® transports you from your front door to the Belsfield Hotel. Tea/coffee will be served on our arrival with free time to settle in before dinner this evening.

Day 2 Lake Windermere & Haverthwaite Railway
We depart for Ambleside village where we board our cruise down the length of Lake Windermere to Lakeside at the southern tip of the lake. Lake Windermere is England’s longest lake and during your cruise you can enjoy the magnificent views of the surrounding hills, secluded bays and its many wooded islands. Upon arrival at Lakeside we join the Haverthwaite Railway for the short trip on this preserved historic line. We will return to our hotel later this afternoon.

Day 3 Bowness-on-Windermere
Today is free for you to make your own explorations. Bowness, on the shore of Lake Windermere, is a popular town offering the opportunity to shop, dine or simply sit back and watch the boats on the lake. The town grew when the railway opened up the area in the late 19th century and the Victorian influence can be seen everywhere. You may like to visit St Martin’s Church, which was built in 1483 and is one of the town’s most interesting buildings, and the area behind the church, Lowside, is the oldest part of town with its many narrow winding streets.

Day 4 Scenic Drive of the Lake District
We depart on our scenic drive of the Lake District passing by the many hills, fells and lakes in the ‘National Park of the North’. We will also be travelling through a number of well known towns and villages, such as Grasmere, Keswick and Ullswater. After making a number of stops in scenic spots to take those all important photos we will return to our hotel, where our final dinner is included this evening.

Day 5 Bowness-on-Windermere
Today we bid farewell to the Lake District. Titan transport will collect you at 10.00am for your return journey home to your own front door.
