Days 1-2 : Fly to Shanghai
Fly overnight to the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai.
Day 3 : Discover Shanghai
Sightseeing today includes a stroll through the beautiful Yu Gardens and the Old Town as well as a visit to the Shanghai Museum. We also walk along the famous Bund with its colonial architecture and explore Tianzhifang art district. This evening cruise on the panoramic Huangpu River and dine at the Shun Feng Restaurant, Wendy’s personal favourite. (B,L,D)
Day 4 : Yangtze River Cruise
Explore the Pudong and in the afternoon board the five-star Victoria Cruises Yangtze ship for eight nights sailing to Chongqing. (B,D)
Day 5 : Imperial Nanjing
Enjoy a half day shore excursion to Nanjing to visit the Dr Sun Yat Sen Mausoleum and the memorial to Nanjing’s Second World War victims. Return to the cruise ship in the evening. (B,L,D)
Day 6 : Mt Jiuhua
Visit one the of the four sacred mountains of Chinese Buddhism known for it’s beautiful rigeds and peaks, winding paths, fountains, pine trees, waterfalls, streams and temples. Return to the cruise ship in the evening.(B,L,D)
Day 7 : Wuhan
We enjoy a shore excursion of Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province and visit the Guqin Terrace. (B,L,D)
Day 8 : Cruising the Yangtze
Spend the day relaxing on-board the ship as we continue cruising upstream towards Yichang. (B,L,D)
Day 9 : Three Gorges Dam
Sail through the Gezhou Dam near Yichang and visit the Three Gorges Dam, the largest in the world. We then sail through the Xiling Gorge before entering the Three Gorges Dam ship locks. (B,L,D)
Day 10 : Wu Gorge & Qutang Gorge
Enter the Wu Gorge and sail through the Qutang Gorge before taking an excursion to the Daning River Small Gorges, passing local villages, mysterious caves, monkeys and emerald waters. (B,L,D)
Day 11 : Fengdu Ghost City
Join a shore excursion to the Ghost City of Fengdu with its captivating temples. Fengdu is also known for its statues of ghosts and devils on Mingshan Hill. (B,L,D)
Day 12 : Giant Pandas, Chongqing
Disembark from the cruise vessel in Chongqing and visit the charming Giant Pandas at Chongqing Zoo. Fly to Beijing, China’s capital city. (B,L)
Day 13 : Forbidden City
Sightseeing today includes a stroll through Tiananmen Square, past Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum to the treasure-filled Forbidden City. Also enjoy a fascinating Chinese Acrobat show in the evening and have dinner at the popular Rose Town Restaurant. (B,L,D)
Day 14 : Great Wall of China
Walk on the Great Wall and tour the exquisite Summer Palace. This evening we go to Quanjude Restaurant, the best place in the city to sample the local delicacy, Peking Duck. (B,L,D)
Day 15 : Fly Beijing to UK
Fly to the UK, arriving home the same or following day. (B)
